Edwin is a Partner at Rise, with comprehensive experience in advising clients on a broad range of tax and business matters.
Edwin graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce. Prior to joining Rise, he was a senior tax manager at a national accounting firm, where he provided tax advice to owner-managed businesses and their shareholders. Edwin’s focus includes tailored tax advice on the purchase and sale of owner-managed businesses, complex corporate reorganizations, trust and estate planning for high net-worth individuals, shareholder wealth distribution, owner-managed business succession, structuring of corporate growth investments, employee/shareholder compensation, structuring of real estate investment, marriage breakdown, separation, and division of corporate wealth, and other tax planning. Edwin also has extensive experience in Canadian and foreign compliance reporting for large private corporate groups.
Edwin has completed all levels of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course as well as the Chartered Professional Accountants Advanced Corporate Reorganizations Course. He has facilitated for the Chartered Professional Accountants In-Depth Tax Program, co-authored articles for the British Columbia Tax Conference, and updated various estate and trust planning courses for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.
Outside of work, Edwin regularly volunteers with the Vancouver School Board, and enjoys being active with his wife by exploring the great B.C. outdoors through various hiking trips and bike rides.
